Paranormal Weekend in Bisbee 2013

If you are anywhere near Bisbee, AZ on Halloween, you may want to check out the Halloween Paranormal Weekend and ghost tour.  The town is spooky enough and riddled with ghost sightings, so it would be the perfect place to be at on Halloween.

You can either book a room at the haunted Bisbee Inn and enjoy their three day ghostly festivities.  You will be treated to a ghost tour, Seance, a visit to the Mini Museum of the Bizarre, and be a part of a ghost hunt.  Another option is to stay at the Copper Queen Hotel and hunt for the ghosts of Billy or Julia Lowell.  If you smell her perfume, you know she is nearby.  Also, on the forth floor, a cowboy shadow man usually makes an appearance after you get a whiff of a cigar smell.  I can personally attest to the spooky activity at this hotel.  My friends and I have had lots of paranormal experiences.  (Look for Bisbee on my search engine and you can read all about it.)  Here is the website to book reservations or to check out all the activities:  http://www.oldbisbeeghosttour.com/hhw.html

I hope to be one of the many who enjoy making Bisbee their place to be on Halloween.

The Crypt: Haunted Attractions

After spending an evening running around in a dark creepy corn maze and photographing a pumpkin patch, we wanted spend the next night being scared.  We choice a haunted attraction in Chandler called "The Crypt".  This was perfect for us to get into the Halloween spirit.  Here is their website: http://www.hauntedaz.com/

We were only allowed to take pictures and videos outside each attraction.  Taking pictures inside probably would be blurry because you are busy running from the crazies hiding inside.  The first place we went inside was called "The Crypt".  It was Sharon, myself, a young girl, her boyfriend, and a couple of high school dudes.  We wandered through a maze of fog, darkness, tubes, and finally a chainsaw welding crazy man chasing out through the exit.  The two dudes pushed past us and almost ran to the parking lot.  That damn chainsaw seemed so real and scared the crap out of all of us.

The next place was "The Asylum" where Sharon and I went inside with those "brave" young men.  After watching, American Horror Story: Asylum, I was a bit scared of what we will see inside.  It was very dark at first, and then we found ourselves in an endless hallway of coats that weaved around the corner.  You had no idea if a hand would move between the coats and grab you.  We felt like we were going to wind up in Narnia.  After the hall of coats was one creepy room after another with a crazy patient chasing us.  We made it out with a chainsaw welding clown chasing us.

The last place was known as "The Maze".  This place was crazy.  You walk through a maze of tarps, but only some of them will let you pass through.  We kept hitting a dead end and could not find our way.  The entire time this creepy ass clown would point us one direction but it was always end with no way out.  "Don't trust the clown!"  Finally, the wife of a couple that was trapped in there with us found the way out.  It was an interesting attraction.

Scarecrows, Darkness, Corn Maze... Oh My!

Scarecrows, or hay-man, can be very creepy sitting in a field especially when it is dark.  They take the shape of humans and are usually wearing aged and tattered clothes.  They are placed in these fields to frighten away crows and sparrows from eating seeds or grown crops.  They may scare crows from invading the fields, but they can be intimidating for humans as well.  After all, they usually don't sing and help a lost girl from Kansas get to the Wizard of Oz.  Most are as creepy as the dark corn fields themselves. (For awesome and creepy scarecrow pictures, check out this blog: http://pumpkinrot.blogspot.com/).

Every year at Schnepf's Farms in the far east valley in Queen Creek, AZ, you will find Sharon and I roaming through the corn maze, taking pictures, and getting lost.  We have a blast and will probably do it for more years to come.  This is a glimpse of what the creepy corn maze is like inside when the sun is going down and the full moon is rising.

Hum, it doesn't look too scary.

Who the hell is that!?!

A full moon over the corn maze.

Don't go inside....

The full moon is barely shining the way.

The bright tips of the corn stalks.

I see the moon but what is the other round light?

Holy crap, it's ET!!!

The Great Pumpkin

In the words of Linus:  "Tonight (Halloween) the Great Pumpkin will rise out of the pumpkin patch.  He flies through the air and brings toys to all the children of the world."

As we all know, the Great Pumpkin does not show, and Charlie Brown gets a bag full of rocks.  (You gotta love the classics!)  All I know is that the pumpkin patch at Schnepf's Farm is a great place to photograph, minus the Great Pumpkin.

Meet the Zombie Housewives

(ZHOA 1950's)
Liz is a divorcee who has a taste for all types of men and drinks mixed with blood.
She is Stella's slutty sister-in-law.

(ZHOA 1950's)
Stella is married with two little zombie kids.  She is the typical 50's housewife with her pearls, painted face, and perfect clothes.  Even becoming a zombie never stopped her from keeping the perfect home and having a meal on the table when her husband came home from work even if the house had no roof and the meal was raw meat.

(1960's)
Blossom is a zombie activist living in a zommune with two zombie war vets.
She is constantly fighting for zombie's rights to be treated equal to humans.

(1960's)
Colleen is married to a human, living in his world and younger sister to Blossom.  She wants to fight along side her big Sis, but is conflicted because of her human husband.  She wants to be accepted by his family, but they are afraid of her and don't trust that she won't eat him.

(1970's)
Mary came very close to getting married, but left her zombie fiancee at the alter.  She believes in equal rights among the zombie populace and holds an important position at the radio station.  Mary and her neighbor Melissa love to hit the bars, have a zombie drink and dance with the other undead souls.

(1970's)
Melissa is a divorcee, a friend to the environment, and vegan.  She lives in the same brownstone apartments as Mary and they became good friends.  Even though pollutants caused them to become zombies and live in a bordered city, Melissa still fights for keeping the city clean, and finding alternative food sources besides raw meat.

Zombies Invade City

Every October in downtown Phoenix a group of the undead walk the streets.  They move in herds of over 5,000, moaning and looking for humans to feast on.  This year, I was told that there may be 20,000 zombies wandering the streets of Phoenix.  Our zombie housewives would like to be there, but Liz and Stella have a bowling tournament that night, Blossom and Colleen are planning a zombie rights march in Washington that night, and the 1970's ladies, Mary and Melissa are stuck in Crystal City and not allowed to travel beyond the city walls.  I have pictures of the 2011 zombie march that the 1950's ladies, Liz and Stella, attended and the new crusty friends they made.
