Virginia: Home, Dinosaur Land, Biscuits and Gravy
Sadly, this is the last day of our exuberant vacation. After packing our bags, we drove to Linden and the Apple House to meet the boys for breakfast. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was scrumptious. We told them that we were going to check out Dinosaur Land because it was on the way to the airport. They decided to go with us.
You can’t miss Dinosaur Land because there are three large dinosaurs at the front of the building. We paid the fee and went through the back door in time. A Pterodactyl was right around the corner and we had to pass it. It was swooping down to get us. We walked along the paths where the large creatures were waiting to greet us. We had fun with the shark by getting inside and hanging out its large mouth with terror on our faces. We took goofy pictures with each dino. The last creature we saw was King Kong. They had a ramp leading up to his massive hand so you can sit inside it and take pictures. I am so glad we decided to see this place. It was a blast.
We said our goodbyes to the boys and headed off to Dulles for our flight back to Phoenix. They were picking people at random to ask security questions and Sharon got picked. It must have been her red hair. We saw dogs sniffing luggage as we waited in to go through security. The flight home was bumpy and uncomfortable. The turbulence made us nervous. Sharon had a couple of drinks while I tried to relax with my iPod. Finally we touched down and happy to be home safely. This trip was great and one I will never forget.
