A History Quickie: Smuggling a Biplane
In 1913, five wooden crates were being shipped from Tucson to Nogales on a flatbed wagon. The U.S. Deputy Marshals apprehended the cargo which was a Curtiss biplane taking apart. They suspect it was being used to help the Sonoran troops in the upheaval against the Mexican government.
