An Abandoned Gem in Kelvin

After our visit to Winkelman, Hayden and Kearny, we headed back to Superior on AZ Hwy 177.  We noticed a sign for a town called Kelvin.  We turned down the small two-lane road to check it out.  There wasn't much to see along the road, as far as abandoned places were concerned.  We decided to drive up the road a little ways and then turn around.  Just beyond the area where we were going to turn, we noticed an abandoned shack.  We were excited to have found something.  It looked as if it could have been someone's home at one time, but we were not sure.  All we know is that it was an amazing abandoned find in the tiny town of Kelvin, AZ.  You just never know what you are going to see if you don't explore the small mining towns.

  1. That little shack was fantastic. We so rarely find these abandoned places away from the old downtown sections.

  2. I love it when we come across places like this after we decide "what the hell, let's take this road" and see where it leads.
