Getting Out of the Heat
My family (hubby, daughter, granddaughter) and I went to a campground near Payson, AZ in Forest Lakes. It was my husband's company's annual campout. My hubby caught the most fish and won a trophy. We had a great time and it was nice to get out of the heat.

The camps port-a-potty. |
This critter and its friends were caught by the kids. |

Haha! I'm with the girls. Hotels all the way. No tents for me!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful adventure for every one.
ReplyDeleteAs an old creek jumper myself, I ca tell you - that's one whopper of a crawdad!
ReplyDeleteYeah LGH, I did my share of tent sleeping when I was younger but don't want to do it anymore. I need a toilet and shower.
ReplyDeleteGail, we had a great time and I was glad my daughter and granddaughter could come with us.
Bubba, he caught three crawdads that size and ate them all.
Looks like you had a lot of fun. When i was younger I loved to camp, now I'll just stay in a hotel. Too many bugs crawling around at night for my taste.
ReplyDeleteVivienne, I agree...too many bugs! It's also those midnight potty runs that turn me off from staying in a tent.
ReplyDeleteOh, man, I can't wait for this weekend! I'm going to be cold. What is cold??? It's going to rain. What is rain? I want to collect every leaf I can find.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the cold too! Last weekend was so nice that I am ready to be cold again.
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome. Any good ghost stories for the kids??
ReplyDeleteThe tent I could handle but I admit I'm not a fan of the porta-potty!
ReplyDeleteCamping with family is one of my favorite autumn activities. It looks like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteSean, we missed out on the ghost stories. I can't wait for my granddaughter to be old enough to tell them to her.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, that port-a-potty was ok. At least I didn't have to maintain it.
Jessica, we have fond memories of camping with our kids and friends. Our kids still talk about them.
Excellent crawdad! I hope you guys fried that baby up:)
