Christmas in the Pines

This past Christmas (2014), my hubby, sister-in-law, and Sharon decided to do something different for Christmas.  We all have adult kids with kids (Sharon will this year), and they celebrate the day with their kids and other family members.  Last year, we all sat home on Christmas and decided not to do that this year.  My hubs rented a cabin in Payson in the Christopher Creek area.  We went up on the Sunday before Christmas and left on the following Saturday.  Actually, my hubby left on Friday and us gals decided to leave on Saturday since we had the cabin until that day.

While there, we enjoyed the crispy cold weather (it snowed on Christmas), hiked around the area, took tons of pictures, shopped at the local antique stores, ate at the local restaurants, checked out downtown historic Payson, baked homemade bread, used extra dough for scones, had wonderful drinks, watched movies, and read books.  It was a relaxing and fun week for the four of us.  I will have several posts on this trip on this blog and my Julie Ferguson Designs blog.

Meanwhile, here are some pictures of the place we stayed in:

The back porch.
Side of the house.
Front of house decorated for the holidays.
Kitchen, dining and living room area.
One of the large bedrooms.
Our Christmas gifts of the awesome coffee table.
Scones on Christmas morning with coffee.
This is the book I read while there.
